London Poppy Day (LPD) is a single day collection from 7am to 7pm at 70 locations across London, predominantly at key National Rail locations, TFL tube stations, offices in the city & collections in the city square mile – LPD has been running for circa. 20 years and was first started by a group of dedicated volunteers in the City.
London Poppy Day takes place on the first Thursday of the Poppy Appeal. On the day, in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence, we bring together 1000 military personnel, and civilian volunteers to collect vital funds for RBL and is one of the only days in the year where uniformed personnel can engage directly with the public.
